1840 Census:
The family was living in New Britain Township, Bucks County, PA. The census shows the presence of 1 male under 5; 2 males 21 to 29; 2 females under 5; and 2 females 21 to 29. It shows 2 people engaged in agriculture as an occupation (presumably the 2 males). Since the census only lists the head of the house and not individual members the 1 male under 5 would be Oliver; 1 of the males 20 to 29 would be Henry; the 2 females under 5 would be Susan and Mary Ann; 1 of the females 20 to 29 would be Elizabeth. Who the other male and female 20 to 29 are is unknown at this time. This census presents an interesting question - the head of the house is listed as "Henry Hendrick". There is no "Henry Hedrick" in either Bucks County or Pennsylvania as a whole for the 1840 census. Does this represent an error on the part of the enumerator when writing the census or did Henry change his name from "Hendrick" to "Hedrick" between 1840 and 1850? There was no "Henry Hendrick" in Pennsylvania in the 1850 census.

1850 Census:
The family was living on a farm in New Britain Township, Bucks County, PA. The Census shows Henry's occupation as a farmer. The farm was valued at $4,000. All children were listed as attending school during the past year except for Elizabeth (age 3). The family had Adam Smith (age 21) living with them. Adam was born in Germany and no occupation was listed for him. Henry's last name appeared as "Hedrick" in this census (see 1840 census above).

1860 Census:
The family was living on a farm in New Britain Township, Bucks County, PA. Their address was listed as the post office at New Britain, PA. The real estate had a value of $6,175 and personal property was valued at $1,500. Oliver was no longer living with the family. All other children (Mary Ann through Elizabeth) were living with the family. David, Henry and Elizabeth had attended school within the last 12 months.
