Individual Note:   Translation of the Baptism/Birth document brought from Germany by Jacob Seyd/Seidts was done by Barbara Rutz of Tri-County Heritage Society. The document states:

Information from the 1870 US Census:

Jacob was living in South Coventry Township (Pughtown Post Office), Chester County, PA with his second wife Elizabeth and their 3 children, John, Catharine and Samuel. Jacob's occupation was listed as a farmer. The census listed his farm with a value of $3000 and personal property worth $400. Jacob's birth place was listed as Wurtenberg and the others were listed as born in Pennsylvania.

Information from the 1880 US Census:

Jacob was living with his daughter, Catharine, in South Coventry Township, Chester County, PA. His occupation was listed ass a farm laborer. The census indicated that he and his parents were born in Wurtemberg and Catharine was born in Pennsylvania.

Information from the 1900 US Census:

Jacob was living with his daughter, Catharine. in South Coventry Township, Chester County, PA. Jacob's occupation was listed as a farmer. The census listed his birthdate as June, 1826 and Catharine's birthdate as June, 1866. The census shows that Jacob immigrated to the US in 1870 (this is interesting since all his children were born between 1860 and 1869 and all are listed as being born in Pennsylvania). It also shows that he was not a naturalized US citizen. The census indicates that they lived on a farm and it was mortgaged.
