William and his wife Kate were living with William's parents, Daniel and Mary, in Alsace Township, Berks County, PA. Also living with them were their 3 children, Emma, Samuel and Sallie. William's occupation was listed as a laborer.

Information from the 1900 US Census:

William and his wife, Catharine, were living with their daughter, Emma, and her husband, Henry Spies, at 1028 Hampdan St, in Reading's 13th Ward, Berks County, PA. Emma and William had been married for 28 years and Emma had 3 children and only 2 were still living (this is somewhat hard to read on the census - there might have been 3 children living but the top of the children living is missing). William's occupation was listed as a house carpenter and Catharine's occupation was listed as a mid-wife.

His occupation was listed as a shoemaker. Daniel's real property was valued at $11,400 and his personal property was valued at $150. William's age was listd as 18 years (the same as Daniel) as opposed to the 1900 cnesus which showed him as being born in 1850.
