He got his nickname of "Pete" because they used to call him "Peanuts" when he was growing up. William's middle name was "Benton". Uncle Pete's middle name came from William.

Catherine born: Jan. 14th 1831
Note: first son was listed as Richard R. in 1860 census. In subsequent US census this son was listed as R. Warren. In 1860 they were living in Pikeland Township, Chester County. By 1870 they had moved to West Vincent Township, Chester County. George was working as a butcher during this time. By 1880 they had moved to Phoenixville (some time in 1876 according to William King's obit) and George was running a boarding house on Main St.
The 1860 census lists him as 29, a dealer, who owned nothing of real estate value but $530 personal estate. His pension was filed on 8/12/1890 for being invalid and later for his widow. He was married at Norristown in November, 1852 by Rev. Miller, to Miss Sarah Ann Shoffner of Norristown.

To the honorable, the Judges of the Court of Quarter Sessions of the Peace in and for the County of Chester.
The Petition of George King Repectfully represents, that he is a Citizen of the United States residing in the Township of West Pikeland in said County, that he is a person of temporate habits and good moral character, and desires a license to keep an EATING HOUSE at the Kimberton Hotel in the Township of East Pikeland at Kimberton. That the said place is commodious and well suited for the purpose and that such a house is needed to accommodate the public. He therefore Prays the Court to grant him a license for the purpose aforesaid, and he will ever pray, &c.

Note about Birth Date: George's headstone at St. Peter's cemetary has his birthday as 12/10/1830. The King Family Bible (dated 1850) in possession of Alice Seidts has George's birthday recorded as 1/16/1831. I have not found an explanation yet. - RMZ

Individual Note: June 17, 2000 - According to Mom's note in one of Mike's baby books Great Grandmother's name was Amelia Klinger. (Note -In 2003 when I acquired Jackie Reninger's 1984 book on Frederich Renninger, I found out that the name of Amelia's brother-in-law where her mother was living at the time of her death was S.H. Klinger. Mom apparently had found this out and put that down in the book under Amelia's name with no other explanation.)
