Individual Note: Note about the 1870 census:
Census showed Owen's age as 3 years old (meaning he was born between September, 1866 and August, 1867) This is in disagreement with 1900 census showing he was born in January, 1866.
Note about the 1880 cnesus:
Census show that the family moved to Northampton County from Bucks County some time betwee 1870 and 1880. In the 1880 census Owen was not shown as living with the family. Gues would be that he was of an age where they had sent him as an "indentured" servant to get an education or learn a trade (this is pure speculation -RMZ). By 1895 he was shown on list of church members (along with Ezekiah) at the New Jerusalem Reformed and Lutheran Church (Apple's Church( in Leithsville, PA where the family was located on the 1880 census.
Notes about 1900 census:
Last name was spelled Wampole instead of Wambold. In 1910, the family was listed as Wambold. Mary Ann is shown as having had 4 children with only 2 still living. Four sons were listed on the census form?
The family was living on a rented farm in Haycock Township, Bucks County in 1900. By 1910, they had moved to the Southern District of Upper Saucon Township in Lehigh County. They were living on a farm that they had purchased.
1900 Census lists Owens birthday as January, 1866. His headstone lists his birthday as January 2, 1867.
Inscription from Headstone: "Father Aged 73-2-12". Buried in Section #2 next to Mary Ann.
