Individual Note: From the 1900 Census:
The family was living in Springfield Township, Bucks County, PA. Milton was a farmer. The farm was identified as farm #149 in the 1900 census. Milton owned the farm but had a mortgage on it. He was born in November, 1861 and had been married to Abbie (Abigail) for 16 years. Living with the family were 3 children Erwin (aged 12), Linford (aged 5) and Cora A. aged 4). Erwin and Linford were attending school. The census indicated that the couple had had a fourth child who was dead at the time of the census. Also living with the family was a servant named Mary Gehman (aged 38). She was probably related to Abbie in some way.
From the 1910 Census:
The family was living in Springfield Township, Bucks County, PA. Milton was a farmer. The farm was identified as farm #76 in the 1910 census. Milton owned the farm outright with no mortgage. He had been married to Abbie for 26 years. Living with the family were 2 children Linford and Cora A. Both children were in school. Abbie, Linford and Cora were all listed as farm laborers on the farm. According to the census only 2 children were still living. Apparently Erwin died prior to 1910.
From the 1920 Census:
The family was living in Springfield Township, Bucks County, PA. Apparently Milton was no longer owned the farm. He was listed as a farm laborer who was "working out" (I take this to mean not working on a farm where he was living). Abbie's occupation was listed as none. Living the couple was their granddaughter Helen Hottle (aged 3 4/12). Note: Cora had married a Wm Hottle and was divorced in 1919.
From the 1930 Census:
Milton was living with his son Linford and his family in Springfield Township, Bucks County, PA. His occupation was listed as a Farm Laborer on a General Farm. Abbie had apparently died by 1930 and Milton was listed as a widower on the census.
