Individual Note:   From the Obituary published in the Daily Local News of 10/2/1909:
The body of George W. King was found along the railroad tracks of the Pickering Valley Railroad near Ironside with his head battered and other marks of violence. The authorities are investigating but are unable to find any evidence of foul play. Suidide also appears unlikely.

From a followup story published on 10/5/1909:
Authorities have discounted the theory that George King was killed accidently by a train or committed suiside by throwing himself under a trian. The train that was supposed to have killed him passed the spot of his death at 11:19 AM and his body was found at 2:30 PM. Elmer Wilson and Benjamin Widdlecombe declared that they were talking to him at 11:45 AM more than a mile from where his body was found. Authorities have discovered no weapons that sould have been used in inflicting the sever injuries to his head.
